Congress party, in its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, vows to implement a personal income tax structure that shields the salaried class from escalating tax rates, according to ET report.

Political party congress pledges stable personal income tax rates throughout its tenure,” stated in its manifesto unveiled on Friday.

Congress ensures stable personal income tax rates, providing clarity for the salaried class to plan finances over the medium-to-long term, safeguarding against rising tax burdens, as stated in its manifesto.

The party pledges to eradicate ‘angel tax’ and other ‘exploitative’ tax schemes hindering investment in new micro, and small companies, and innovative startups.

“Congress commits to reducing tax burdens on MSMEs owned by individuals and partnership firms,” stated the party in its announcement.

The manifesto, named ‘Nyay Patra,’ was unveiled at the AICC headquarters, with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

It emphasized five ‘pillars of justice’ with 25 associated guarantees, outlining the party’s vision for governance and social equity.

Congress pledges to enact a constitutional amendment to elevate the 50% cap on reservations for SC, ST, and OBC if winning in the upcoming general elections commencing April 19.

Congress also commits to conducting a nationwide socio-economic and caste census as part of its agenda, aiming for comprehensive data collection on socio-economic indicators and caste demographics across the country.

Congress ensures a new ‘right to apprenticeship act,’ offering one-year apprenticeships to all diploma holders or graduates under 25, aiming to enhance skill development and employment opportunities for youth.

Right to Apprentice Act guarantees a one-year apprenticeship, “We are going to ensure your ‘first job‘ of Rs 1 lakh ($1,209) per year,” Rahul Gandhi, said on X social media.

Rahul Gandhi, who is in the middle of a cross-country march exhorting young people to vote for Congress, said the party would enact a ‘Right to Apprentice Act’ guaranteeing a one-year apprenticeship in a government or private institution, with the opportunity to continue in the job.

“This revolutionary scheme will change the face of Indian industries and the destiny of the youth by closing the skill gap between industry and India’s workforce,” he said.
