IBM Appoints Thirukkumaran Nagarajan as VP – HR, Asia Pacific

IBM has announced the appointment of Thirukkumaran Nagarajan as Vice President, Human Resources for Asia Pacific, marking a significant milestone in his nearly two-decade journey with IBM.

With extensive HR leadership experience across multiple global regions, Thirukkumaran is set to drive IBM’s people strategy in one of its most dynamic and diverse markets.

Strategic Focus for IBM Asia Pacific

As Vice President, HR for IBM Asia Pacific, Thirukkumaran will oversee IBM’s workforce strategy across multiple countries, including India, Australia, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea.

His leadership will focus on talent acquisition, workforce transformation, and fostering a culture of innovation.

With IBM investing heavily in AI, cloud computing, and consulting services, ensuring the right talent is in place to support these advancements is a top priority.

His cross-regional expertise and deep organizational experience position him well to ensure that HR initiatives align with IBM’s business growth and transformation goals.

A Proven Track Record in HR Leadership

Thirukkumaran has held several key HR leadership roles within IBM, including overseeing human resources for India/South Asia, Global Delivery, and the Middle East & Africa (MEA) regions.

His experience includes serving as Vice President, HR for IBM India/South Asia, where he played a major role in shaping HR transformation and employee engagement initiatives.

Additionally, he led HR strategy for IBM Consulting’s Global Delivery operations, overseeing talent acquisition, workforce planning, and digital HR solutions.

His tenure also included leadership roles in IBM’s MEA region, based in Dubai, where he focused on developing people-centric strategies and fostering talent in emerging markets.

Having worked in key global locations such as Armonk, Dubai, and Bengaluru, Thirukkumaran brings a broad multicultural perspective to his new role, ensuring IBM’s HR initiatives align with the diverse needs of the Asia Pacific workforce.
