ABB, the global technology leader in electrification and automation, has appointed Biswajit Deb as People Leader – Talent Acquisition.
The announcement marks a strategic addition to ABB’s human resources leadership team, reinforcing its commitment to building a future-ready workforce amid evolving business and talent demands.
Biswajit brings over 15 years of experience across diverse sectors including pharmaceuticals, logistics, ports, and energy.
His appointment is expected to sharpen ABB’s hiring agenda and support its broader growth priorities by aligning people strategy with business transformation.
A Career Built on Strategic Talent Practices
Prior to joining ABB, Biswajit Deb served as Talent Acquisition and Attraction Manager and Lead – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (GSC) at A.P. Moller – Maersk.
In this role, he led hiring for India’s Global Services Centers and played a key role in advancing DEI initiatives across the organization.
His performance earned him the Star Award, recognizing his contribution to closing thousands of critical roles and enhancing talent pipelines.
Before Maersk, Biswajit held leadership roles at Intas Pharmaceuticals, where he developed recruitment strategies aligned with business goals and worked closely with senior leadership to drive campus engagement and talent alignment.
At Adani Ports and SEZ, he contributed to corporate and site-level hiring, including strategic acquisition for emerging businesses and leadership positions.
His efforts also supported large-scale implementations such as Oracle Taleo and helped build robust recruitment performance matrices.
Biswajit began his career at Claris Limited, where he gained foundational experience in talent acquisition, employee development, and HR communication programs.
This early exposure laid the groundwork for his later strategic roles in HR.

He also earned an MBA in HR Management from Gujarat University, equipping him with both theoretical and practical insights into human capital development.

ABB: Vision for Talent and Transformation
ABB’s decision to onboard Biswajit reflects its focus on organizational agility, digital transformation, and global talent access.
As companies face increasing competition for niche skills—particularly in engineering and technology—leaders with cross-industry experience are being tapped to bring fresh perspectives and transferable best practices.
In its official statement, ABB noted: “His diverse background and deep understanding of people practices will further strengthen ABB’s talent agenda.”
The company expects Biswajit to play a pivotal role in shaping attraction frameworks and delivering measurable outcomes as it continues to invest in people capability.
