Mahatma Gandhi Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (MGRDPR) University in Gadag has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Infosys to promote digital literacy and future-ready skills among rural students.

The collaboration is part of Infosys’ ESG Vision 2030 and aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

The MoU was formally exchanged in Gadag on October 8, 2025, between MGRDPR University Vice-Chancellor Suresh V. Nadagouda and Santhosh Ananthapura, Associate Vice-President and Head of Government Partnerships Division at Infosys.

The signing ceremony was attended by university officials including Assistant Director of Research and Exploration Girish Dixit.

This partnership marks a significant step in integrating technology with rural higher education.

It reflects a shared commitment to equipping students with the digital competencies needed to thrive in an increasingly tech-driven economy.

Infosys Springboard to Power Learning

Under the agreement, Infosys will extend its Springboard platform to MGRDPR University students.

Springboard is a digital learning initiative that offers curated content, certifications, and skill-building modules across various domains.

The platform provides quality learning resources to all, overcoming geographic and economic barriers.

Santhosh Ananthapura emphasized Infosys’ dedication to inclusive education, stating that the company aims to empower students by providing tools that enhance employability and industry readiness.

He noted that the collaboration will help students gain practical exposure to emerging technologies and digital workflows.

Empowering Rural Youth Through Technology

Vice-Chancellor Suresh V. Nadagouda highlighted the importance of such collaborations in transforming rural education.

He said that the MoU will enable students from rural backgrounds to access high-quality digital content and develop skills that are essential for global competitiveness.

He added that the university fosters an environment where students engage with real-world challenges and build capabilities that align with national development goals.

Focus on Sustainable and Skill-Oriented Growth

The partnership aligns with the broader goals of sustainable development and skill-oriented education.

By integrating digital tools into the curriculum, MGRDPR University aims to modernize its academic offerings and prepare students for careers in governance, development, and technology.

The collaboration also supports the government’s emphasis on digital inclusion and rural empowerment, particularly in the context of Panchayat Raj institutions and decentralized governance.
