Birla Corporation Reappoints Sandip Ghose as MD and CEO

Board of Birla Corporation has officially approved the reappointment of Sandip Ghose as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MP Birla Cement for a three-year term.

Sandip, who has been at the helm since January 2023, has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth and transformation, particularly in scaling up Mukutban operations.

Leadership and Contributions to Birla Corporation

Sandip’s leadership has been instrumental in driving strategic expansion and brand premiumization at MP Birla Cement.

His tenure has seen:

  • Successful integration of Birla Corporation and RCCPL.
  • Strengthening of MP Birla Cement’s market position through innovative strategies.
  • Operational efficiency improvements across sales, marketing, logistics, IT, and corporate strategy.

Career Journey and Industry Expertise

An alumnus of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Sandip has four decades of experience spanning FMCG, media, and cement industries.

His career highlights include:

  • Early roles at Ernst & Young and ITC before moving to Unilever.
  • Senior leadership positions at Kimberly-Clark Lever, ABP Group, and HT Media.
  • Strategic roles at LafargeHolcim and MP Birla Cement, where he led brand premiumization and business integration.

Sandip has also served as Chairman of eXlygenze SenseWorks and a strategic advisor to the Centre for Public Policy Research.
