Cognizant, a leading global IT services company, has announced the appointment of Sailaja Josyula as the Global Head of its Global Capability Center (GCC) Service Line.
Based in Hyderabad, Sailaja will lead the definition and execution of Cognizant’s GCC strategy.
Surya Gummadi, President of Americas at Cognizant, expressed confidence in Sailaja’s leadership.
She stated, “Sailaja truly understands our business, our clients, and our team. With her extensive experience and proven track record, her leadership will boost our ability to build and scale GCCs, delivering great value for our clients.”

Role and Responsibilities at Cognizant
As the Global Head of GCC Service Line, Sailaja will establish and lead a cross-functional team to help clients build and scale next-generation GCCs.
Her leadership will aim to ensure seamless setup and delivery of GCCs.
It will also focus on deepening Cognizant’s expertise in the GCC domain and driving long-term value for clients through innovation and operational excellence.
Sailaja’s responsibilities include:
- Defining and executing Cognizant’s global GCC strategy.
- Collaborating with the leadership team to ensure the strategy is future-ready and client-centric.
- Leading initiatives to build and scale GCCs, delivering great value to clients.
Sailaja Josyula’s Leadership Journey
Sailaja Josyula brings nearly three decades of industry experience to her new role.
She has a proven track record in transformation, execution, and program management, with deep domain expertise in financial services.
Sailaja’s career includes leadership roles at Thomson Reuters and HSBC.
In these positions, she led large-scale offshore delivery, customer experience transformation, and global payment operations.
Sailaja is no stranger to Cognizant, having previously held multiple leadership roles at the company between 2018 and 2024.
During her tenure, she held the roles of Hyderabad Center Head and Global Head of BFSI Operations Delivery.
She contributed significantly to the Hyderabad center’s growth and the operational strength of the Financial Services IOA business.
Her return to Cognizant after a brief stint at EY underscores her alignment with the company’s vision and goals.
