Prudential Financial Names Vicki Walia as Chief People Officer

Prudential Financial, Inc. has announced the appointment of Vicki Walia as its new Chief People Officer, effective March 31, 2025.

Vicki will report to Andrew Sullivan, who will succeed Lowrey as CEO effective March 31, 2025.

This leadership transition signals a strong emphasis on talent and culture as Prudential navigates the evolving business landscape.

She currently leads human resources for Prudential’s U.S. Businesses and PGIM, the company’s global asset management business1.

Vicki’s appointment comes as she succeeds Lucien Alziari, who has served as Prudential’s CHRO for eight years and will retire upon Vicki’s appointment.

Leadership and Vision

Charles Lowrey, Chairman and CEO of Prudential Financial, emphasized the strategic importance of Walia’s appointment.

He noted that under Lucien’s leadership, Prudential’s talent programs and culture have evolved significantly, helping employees compete, lead, and collaborate more effectively.

Vicki’s role will be crucial in continuing this transformation and driving the company’s workforce strategy.

Andrew Sullivan, Head of International Businesses and Global Investment Management at Prudential, praised Vicki’s exceptional leadership.

He also commended her deep commitment to the company’s people. He highlighted her global experience and perspectives.

These qualities will be invaluable in empowering the workforce to capture opportunities at the intersection of insurance, asset management, and retirement.

Background and Expertise of CPO at Prudential Financial

Vicki Walia brings a wealth of experience in talent management, organizational effectiveness, and digital strategy.

Before joining Prudential, Vicki held successive leadership roles in human resources, marketing, and digital strategy and innovation at Moody’s Analytics.

She also held similar positions at AllianceBernstein.

She first joined Prudential as Chief Talent and Capability Officer, overseeing talent and change management. Additionally, she led teams focused on organizational effectiveness.
