Sajid Iqbal has joined Brigade Group as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Senior Vice President (SVP), marking the end of a distinguished 22-year tenure at General Electric (GE).
Sajid brings with him a wealth of experience in global and regional HR leadership, having held multiple senior roles at GE across India, the United States, and the Asia-Pacific region.
His career spans diverse industries including healthcare, oil and gas, aviation, and transportation, making him a versatile addition to Brigade’s executive team.
Career Journey: From L&T to GE and Now Brigade
Sajid Iqbal began his professional journey in 1997 as an HR specialist at Larsen & Toubro (L&T), where he led talent development and rewards programs at the Powai plant.
He later moved to Godrej Pacific (now Ingram Micro) in 2001, managing recruitment and early talent development across 25 branches in India.
His association with GE started in 2003, where he initially served as HR Manager in Mumbai and Hyderabad.
Between 2006 and 2010, he was based in Kansas, USA, as a global HR business partner, introducing performance-linked incentive programs to drive profitability.
Over the next decade, he held key HR leadership roles across GE Healthcare, GE Oil & Gas, GE Aviation, and GE Transportation.
Most recently, Sajid served as Vice President – Human Resources at GE, overseeing HR operations for the APAC and Sub-Saharan Africa region.
His responsibilities spanned countries like Australia, China, India, Indonesia, and several African nations, covering over 6,000 employees across seven factories and three service sites.
