Skoda Auto Volkswagen India appoints Sarma Chillara as Group Head- HR

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, a wholly-owned Indian subsidiary of German automotive manufacturing company Volkswagen Group has announced the elevation of Sarma Chillara as Group Head-HR & Administration. He replaces Executive Director HR & Admin, Jan Frydrych who will move to Skoda Headquarters.

Earlier Sarma was working with Skoda Auto Volkswagen India as Head-HR & Admin. In his new role, he will be responsible for the entire gamut of People, Culture, Talent Management, and will lead HR strategies for the Group within the framework of the India 2.0 project. He will report to Gurpratap Boparai, Managing Director, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India.

Sarma has over 15 years of experience in human resources, he is working with Skoda Auto Volkswagen India for almost 10 years and previously, he was associated with the companies like The Boston Consulting Group, Citi Group, and Future Group India.

Commenting on the development, Gurpratap Boparai, Managing Director, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, said, “I am delighted to have found a worthy successor for Jan Frydrych in Sarma Chillara. He did graduation in Commerce and earned an MBA in Human Resources from Welingkar Institute of Management.
