Sony Pictures India Appoints Ritesh Khosla as General Counsel

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced a significant leadership transition. Effective September 1, 2024, Ritesh Khosla will take the reins as the new General Counsel.

Ritesh is succeeding the esteemed Ashok Nambissan, who is retiring after a distinguished career with the company. This appointment marks a pivotal moment for SPNI as it continues to shape the media and entertainment industry in India.

Ritesh’s Journey

Ritesh Khosla’s journey to this pivotal role has been marked by dedication and expertise. Starting his career as a practicing lawyer in a law firm, Ritesh later joined SPNI, where he steadily climbed the ranks.

For the past six years, he has served as Deputy General Counsel, accumulating over two decades of legal experience.

His areas of specialization include mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures (JVs), regulatory frameworks, compliance, corporate governance, complex litigation, and intellectual property rights (IPR) protection and enforcement.

New Roles & Responsibilities at Sony Pictures

As General Counsel, Ritesh will provide strategic legal guidance, manage risks, and ensure compliance across the organization. His expertise will be instrumental in navigating the complexities of the media industry.

Ritesh will play a key role in maintaining high standards of corporate governance and ethical conduct. His leadership will contribute to SPNI’s commitment to excellence.

Ritesh will serve as the company’s Ombudsperson, fostering transparency and addressing concerns. His fair and impartial approach will enhance SPNI’s internal processes.
