Vedanta ESL Appoints Ravish Sharma as Deputy CEO & Whole-Time Director

Vedanta ESL, a prominent player in the Indian metals industry, has announced the appointment of Ravish Sharma as the Deputy CEO & Whole-Time Director.

Ravish brings with him over two decades of extensive experience in the metals industry, particularly in smelting operations and engineering.

He has also excelled in health, safety, environment (HSE), business excellence, stakeholder management, and corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Leadership and Vision for Vedanta ESL

In his new role as Deputy CEO & Whole-Time Director, Ravish is set to lead Vedanta ESL’s Integrated Steel Plant at Bokaro.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Ravish said, “I am both delighted and honoured to lead this Integrated Steel Plant at Bokaro.”

He added, “Having grown my career within the Vedanta family, I have a strong connection to this organization and its mission.”

Ravish said, “I’m excited to work alongside our dedicated team to enhance our operational performance, pursue sustainable growth strategies, and create lasting value for our stakeholders.”

He concluded saying, “Above all, we will remain steadfast in our commitment to safety, efficiency, and responsible operations.”

Background on Ravish Sharma

Ravish’s illustrious career spans over 20 years, during which he has held key leadership roles across various Vedanta businesses.

His expertise and contributions have been pivotal in driving business growth and achieving operational excellence.

Ravish has previously served in leadership positions at Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (Vedanta) and Hindustan Zinc Limited (Vedanta).

He also held a leadership role at ESL Steel Limited (Vedanta).

His leadership has been characterized by a deep commitment to safety excellence. This ensures the highest standards of workplace safety and operational efficiency.

Ravish holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya.

He has further honed his leadership skills through the Senior Leadership Development Program at ISB Hyderabad in 2024.

Over the years, he has successfully enhanced operational performance and set new benchmarks in the smelting of silver, zinc, lead, and aluminium.

He has also achieved significant advancements in integrated steel plant operations.

His leadership excellence was recognized when he received the Great Manager Award in 2018 by ET NOW & People Business.

Vedanta ESL’s Strategic Focus

Vedanta ESL is a leading manufacturer of steel products located in Siyaljori village in the Bokaro district of Jharkhand.

The company operates a 1.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant that produces pig iron, billets, TMT bars, wire rods, and ductile iron pipes.

The plant adheres to prescribed environmental standards, leveraging international expertise and solutions to offer world-class services and products.

The appointment of Ravish is part of Vedanta ESL’s broader strategy to strengthen its leadership team and drive sustainable growth.
