Walmart Sourcing has announced the appointment of Atreyee Chowdhury as the new Head of HR, People Partner – India Hub.
Atreyee steps into the role after nearly six years with Walmart Global Tech India, bringing over 17 years of experience in human resources, learning and development, and organizational transformation.
Career Journey and Leadership Experience
Atreyee began her professional journey in 2008 as a Technical Writer at Cybage Software.
She transitioned into instructional design roles at IBM Global Business Services and Accenture, where she developed scalable training solutions and led content development initiatives.
Her work at Simplilearn and Tech Mahindra further solidified her expertise in blended learning and global training project management.
From 2018 to 2019, she served as a Learning Solutions Specialist at ICF, where she designed enterprise-wide learning programs and led strategic vendor partnerships.
Her tenure at Walmart began in 2019, initially as Manager II – Learning Content Design & Development.
She was later promoted to Senior Manager – Design Services at Walmart Academy, and then to Senior Manager – Associate Experience, GTL, where she led a 22-member team impacting over 2 million associates through strategic L&D initiatives.
Atreyee’s leadership has been recognized for improving engagement and belonging scores across Walmart.
She has also led impactful programs like the Opportunity Knocks career site, LeanIn circles, and enhanced onboarding and certification efforts throughout the enterprise.
A Strategic Role in Walmart Sourcing’s Global Supply Chain
Atreyee will lead HR strategy and people operations for Walmart Sourcing’s India Hub. This hub plays a vital role in supporting the company’s global supply chain.
Walmart Sourcing serves as the global sourcing arm of Walmart.
It manages an integrated supply chain that supports the retail giant’s operations across international markets.
The division emphasizes cost leadership, supplier partnerships, and sustainable sourcing practices, making HR leadership a key enabler of its operational success.
