Tata Steel Long Products Limited formerly known as Tata Sponge Iron Limited has appointed Md Rashid Jaffrey as Chief People Officer (CPO).
He has nearly 17 years of experience as a Human Resources Professional with a demonstrated history of working in the mining & metals industry.
Md Rashid is skilled in leading HR functions. He has experience in Business Planning, Strategic HRM, Employee Relations, Partnerships, People Process Improvements & Business Excellence.
Prior to Tata Steel Long Products Limited, Md Rashid was associated with TRF Ltd. A TATA Enterprise as Chief Human Resources Officer (on Deputation from Tata Steel). His previous assignment was with Tata Pigments where he was Chief Human Resources Officer (On deputation from Tata Steel Limited).
He started his career working with TATA Steel as a Manager Business HR. In this role, he was responsible for end-to-end HR functions of Flat Products Profit Center (which includes Manufacturing units, Supply chain, and Marketing and sales) covering over 350 officers. The key responsibilities included Manpower planning, Recruitment, Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits, Employee engagement, Learning, and Development.
Md Rashid is an alumnus of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra. He is a strong HRM professional with a PGDBM-(Human Resource and Industrial Relations) focused on Human Resource Management from Xavier Institute of Social Service.
