upGrad appoints Saurabh Deep Singla as CHRO

Ed-tech company upGrad has announced the appointment of Saurabh Deep Singla as the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), effective July 13, 2022.

In this new role, he will be responsible for the entire gamut of culture and people agenda for the organization. Prior to this, Saurabh was working as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) for Ecom Express Private Limited.

Commenting on the Appointment, Mayank Kumar, Co-Founder, and MD, upGrad, said, “It’s a pleasure to have Saurabh onboard at a time when the upGrad family is growing in India and across geographies. He brings with him a proven track record of transforming cultures across organisations and a strong business acumen for driving HR-led initiatives and creating a strategic talent pipeline within the upGrad ecosystem.”

Saurabh’s experience in HR portfolio spans over two decades of career extending to both Corporate and Business HR roles across diverse sectors and complex businesses (both-B2B and B2C) has provided him with hands-on knowledge and proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders and complex matrix organizations spread across continents.

Commenting on his career move, Saurabh Deep Singla said, “Thrilled to become a part of the journey which has been transforming the lives of millions through its quality education. Previously, Saurabh was also associated with G4S, Rio Tinto, Yum! Brands, Whirlpool Corporation, and Bharti Airtel Ltd.

Saurabh is an alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur.
