EPFO announced that that EPS’95 Pensioners can now submit a Life Certificate at any time which will be valid for 1 year from the date of submission.

The Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners Scheme of the Government of India known as Jeevan Pramaan seeks to address this very problem by digitizing the whole process of securing the life certificate.

It aims to streamline the process of getting this certificate and make it hassle-free and much easier for pensioners. With this initiative, the pensioner’s requirement to physically present himself/herself in front of the disbursing agency or the certification authority will become a thing of the past hugely benefiting the pensioners and cutting down on unnecessary logistical hurdles.

The EPFO has shared a tweet sharing the information saying, “EPS’95 Pensioners can now submit Life Certificate at any time which will be valid for 1 year from date of submission.”

Submitted Digitally at:

  1. Pension Disbursing Bank
  2. Common Service Centre
  3. IPPB/Indian Post Office/Postman
  4. Nearest EPFO office
  5. Umang app

Pre-requisites

  1. PPO number
  2. Aadhaar Number
  3. Bank account details
  4. Mobile number linked with Aadhaar

There are several social security programs under the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).

EPFO has also introduced a new initiative to facilitate Member Pensioner & Nominee /family members (in case of EDLI benefit) to calculate the eligible Pension & EDLI benefits.

The Benefits of EDLI Calculator are as follows:

  • Generates awareness about eligibility for pension.
  • Creates a sense of Social Security by providing a calculation of assurance benefits under the EDLI Scheme.
  • Increase member satisfaction.
  • Decreases the number of grievances.

EDLI benefits are available only to the family members/nominees nominated by the member during his lifetime or to surviving family members in case of the death of the member while he was in employment.

The members are advised to file their e-nomination and update at the same time in case of a change in the family so that in the sad event of his death the benefits are paid to the intended family member/ nominee through an online claim.
