Amazon has announced plans to hire 250,000 workers across the United States for the 2025 holiday season, marking the third consecutive year the company has committed to this scale of seasonal hiring.
The move underscores Amazon’s continued reliance on a robust logistics and fulfillment workforce to meet the surge in customer demand during the peak shopping period from October through December.
Amazon Hiring Scope and Job Roles
The 250,000 positions include full-time, part-time, and seasonal roles across Amazon’s fulfillment centers and transportation network.
These jobs will be spread across urban and rural areas, with a focus on regions where Amazon is expanding its logistics footprint.
The company has emphasized that these roles are essential to ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining service quality during the busiest time of the year.
Seasonal workers will earn an average wage of over 19 dollars per hour, while regular full-time and part-time employees will earn an average of 23 dollars per hour, along with benefits.
Amazon has also highlighted that many seasonal roles often transition into permanent positions, offering long-term career opportunities for those interested in staying beyond the holiday season.
Competitive Pay and Career Growth
Amazon’s pay structure remains competitive in the retail and logistics sectors.
In addition to hourly wages, employees may be eligible for sign-on bonuses in select locations.
The company continues to invest in upskilling and career development through programs like Career Choice, which pre-pays tuition for employees pursuing education in high-demand fields.
Sandy Gordon, Vice President of Global Operations Employee Experience, affirmed the company’s commitment to building a workplace where seasonal opportunities evolve into long-term careers.
Job postings will be updated weekly through December on Amazon’s hiring portal.
