HCLTech to hire over 10,000 freshers in this fiscal year

India’s third largest IT services-providing company, HCLTech plans to hire 10,000 freshers in the fiscal year 2025.

The company added 2,725 in Q4, the March ending quarter and the total people count at the end of the quarter stood at 227,481 at the end of March 2024.

In Q4, HCLTech added 3,096 freshers, bringing the full-year total to 12,141 freshers. This highlights consistent efforts in talent acquisition and growth within the company.

HCLTech’s total headcount in Q4 was 227,481, with a year-on-year addition of 1,537 employees, totaling to 227,481 employees in FY24. This demonstrates steady growth and expansion within the company.

Ramachandran Sundararajan, HCLTech’s chief people officer, stated during the Q4 earnings conference that they aim to hire 10,000 in FY25. They’ve already secured over 10% through off-campus efforts and 15% through current campus cycles with more planned.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra reported a net employee decline of 795 sequentially for the fourth quarter ended March 31. The total headcount stood at 145,455, marking a 1% decline QoQ and a 4.6% decrease YoY.

Wipro reported a net reduction of 6,180 employees, total headcount at the end of March 2024 stood at 234,054. The company’s headcount was reduced by 24,516 in FY24.

In the January-March period, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) saw a sequential decrease in headcount by 1,759 employees and the total workforce stood at 6,01,546 as of March 31, 2024.

In Q4FY24 and FY24, Infosys witnessed decreased hiring compared to previous quarters and fiscal years, reflecting a shifting trend.

Despite a 1.4% year-on-year revenue increase in constant currency. In Fiscal Year 24, Infosys’s headcount dropped by 25,994 YoY basis.
