Swiggy to create 10,000 gig jobs, Air India is hiring 1000 pilots

Recently the two leading companies Swiggy and Air India announced plans for hiring. The Indian online food ordering and delivery platform, Swiggy has partnered with job platform Apna to create 10,000 jobs for Swiggy Instamart. 

Kedar Gokhale, Vice President of Operations at Swiggy said, “Delivery partners are the backbone of the company as they help in serving food, grocery, and other services to millions of users.”

“The partnership with Apna has helped in augmenting our delivery fleet to cater to the growing demand on Instamart in smaller cities. We’re glad that it is creating more income opportunities for delivery personnel and contributing to the growth of the economy,” he said.

Swiggy aims to strengthen its delivery fleet in Tier II and III cities. The platform is already present across 25 cities in India. 

Nirmit Parikh, Founder and CEO, apna said, “With opportunities for delivery partners emerging in deeper pockets of the country, we aim to bridge the demand-supply gap for Swiggy and generate more job opportunities in the coming months.”

Air India is Hiring 1000 Pilots

Tata Group-owned Air India is set to hire more than 1,000 pilots in a bid to expand its fleet and network. The carrier is hiring both captains, as well as trainers, according to an advertisement.

“We are offering multiple opportunities and accelerated growth across our A320, B777, B787, and B737 fleet for captains and first officers, as well as trainers,” it said.

The company said that they are offering multiple opportunities and accelerated growth for captains, first officers, and trainers across their fleet of A320, B777, B787, and B737 aircraft.

Earlier, Air India announced plans to hire over 4200 cabin crew trainees and 900 pilots in 2023 as the airline adds new aircraft and rapidly expands its domestic and international operations.

The airline currently has more than 1,800 pilots. It has placed orders for 470 aircraft with Boeing and Airbus, including for wide-body planes.
