An Irish-American professional services company, Accenture is training more than 250,000 people in Artificial intelligence (AI).

Julie Sweet, chair and CEO, Accenture said, “We have already trained approximately 600,000 of our people in the fundamentals of AI. We are taking a further step to equip more than 250,000 people… and using new AI tools equitably, sustainably and without bias.”

Accenture is the largest IT consulting company in the world by workforce. The company has more than 730,000 people across 49 countries in roles.

Accenture’s strength in strategy and consulting — ultimately drives the other companies to harness change.

Earlier, Accenture announced a $3 billion investment over three years in its Data & AI practice to help clients across all industries rapidly and responsibly advance and use AI to achieve greater growth, efficiency, and resilience.

Paul Daugherty, group chief executive, Accenture Technology earlier said, “Over the next decade, AI will be a mega-trend, transforming industries, companies, and the way we live and work, as generative AI transforms 40% of all working hours.”

“Our expanded Data & AI practice brings together the full power and breadth of Accenture in creating industry-specific solutions that will help our clients harness AI’s full potential to reshape their strategy, technology, and ways of working, driving innovation and value responsibly and faster than ever before”, Paul Daugherty added.

The investment is part of a larger strategy to expand the firm’s AI capabilities across all industries. The company said Data & AI practice will double its AI talent to 80,000 professionals through a mix of hiring, acquisitions, and training.
