A global professional services company with leading capabilities in digital, cloud, and security, Accenture has delayed the onboarding of fresh hires to 2023. Due to this, freshers are now worried about their career gaps.

An engineering graduate told Businessline, “I received my (Accenture) offer letter in the last week of April. My onboarding is being pushed time after time, the latest onboarding date was September 30 and now it has been pushed to somewhere in 2023.”

Many fresh graduates got offer letters from Accenture in April last week. The company has approved all the documents and has done the hiring formalities. However, the freshers are still not onboarded by the tech firm.

According to reports, the company has seemingly postponed the dates of onboarding till 2023. The freshers have also reached out to the placement cells of their college but have received no encouraging word.

Accenture has joined the other IT companies Wipro, Capgemini  Infosys, HCL Tech, and Tech Mahindra for the delay in their onboarding process.

According to Harpreet Singh Saluja, President of NITES, an IT employees association, nearly 30,000 IT professionals have been impacted by the delay in onboarding at top IT firms like Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, and others.

“The ballpark figure could be around 30,000 professionals because it is an ongoing process. Throughout the year, campus placements are conducted by these IT companies”, said Harpreet Singh Saluja.

He further added, “We are in touch with thousands of students, this figure can cross 30,000 also.”

It was also reported that the IT majors of India Wipro, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra have also revoked the offer letters issued to many freshers candidates.

Students have received a letter stating that their employment letter is being revoked. The Tech companies have been revoked on grounds of failing certain eligibility criteria and company guidelines.
