According to TOI report, Telecom operator, Bharti Airtel, has enhanced parental policy benefits for its employees. It has included special childcare allowance and flexible working options for new mothers with an aim to drive diverse and inclusive workplace goals.

Bharti Airtel has made an announcement that apart from 26 weeks of maternity leave, women employees that are returning to work will get a special childcare allowance of Rs 7,000 per month till the child turns 18 months old.

As per Bharti Airtel policy, the company offers 26 weeks of maternity leave to women employees. Also, after this, the company offers 24 weeks of flexible working to employees so that they can get back to work at their own places and be able to manage time for their newly born baby too.

In addition to this Airtel also offers two additional paid leaves per quarter for childcare to new mothers.

But the new policies which have been implemented don’t just look after the mothers but fathers as well. Fathers who are the primary caregivers will get up to eight weeks of paternity leave.

Commenting on the revamped parental policy benefits, Amrita Padda, Chief People Officer of the company said, “Airtel is a place where we pride ourselves on creating impactful innovations that make a mark”.

Padda further said that in the endeavours to strengthen the workplace and work practices, the company needs to stay ahead of the curve and revisit policies.

“We have done this with a clear focus on becoming a more diverse and inclusive workplace. We hope this will encourage more women to continue pursuing their careers at Airtel as they move through important life stages in their lives,” she added.

This is a policy that has given a lot of advantages. It is also going to give a lot of headroom and peace to new mothers and fathers that are associated with Bharti Airtel as employees so that they can offer ample amount of time, and monetary benefit will surely help the employees to look after newly born child in the best manner possible.
