The Ola founder and chairman, Bhavish Aggarwal, recently unveiled ‘Krutrim AI,’ an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot that is set to rival other leading AI systems such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini in India.

Commenting on the announcement Bhavish Aggarwal said, “With AI defining the future paradigms of economy and culture, it is important for our nation to take leadership in AI. More importantly, it is extremely essential to have an AI that is Indian at heart, stays true to our Indian cultural ethos, and solves real Indian problems.”

“Moving away from the western technologies, कृत्रिम marks the beginning of a new era of computing in India. The model is trained on large Indian data sets and is deeply rooted in Indian values with data of over 10+ Indian languages and is ready to assist in English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Gujarati, and even Hinglish!”, he added.

He further said, “कृत्रिम is just a start for us and our first-generation product. Lots more to come and this will also improve significantly as we build on this base. Do give us your feedback.”

“While there will be some hallucinations but much lower for Indian contexts than other global platforms. And we will be working overtime to find and fix them!”, he added.

The Krutrim AI public beta is rolled out. You can use it here by clicking here.

Recently, Reliance Industries is preparing to launch an artificial intelligence model specifically designed for India (BharatGPT).
