Cognizant Technology Solutions has officially launched Agent Foundry, a comprehensive framework designed to help enterprises design, deploy, and scale autonomous AI agents across business functions.

This marks a significant leap in enterprise AI adoption, moving beyond experimental pilots to production-grade agentic systems that can think, act, and learn within complex workflows.

Agent Foundry is platform-agnostic, modular, and built for enterprise-grade governance, enabling organizations to embed AI agents into existing systems such as CRM, ERP, HRIS, and cloud platforms.

Naveen Sharma, Global Head of AI and Analytics at Cognizant, stated, “We’re entering a new phase of enterprise transformation, one where AI agents become embedded, trusted participants in how work gets done and transformation is managed.”

What Is Agent Foundry by Cognizant?

Agent Foundry is a composable framework that includes:

  • Reusable assets from Cognizant’s proprietary IP and third-party solutions
  • Domain-specific small language models (SLMs) tailored to industries
  • Industrialized agent templates built using Cognizant Neuro® AI Multi-Agent Accelerator
  • A pre-built library of proprietary and partner agents for rapid deployment

The offering supports the full lifecycle of agent deployment across four stages:

  1. Discover – AI-driven process mining to identify automation opportunities
  2. Design – Define agent roles and validate frameworks
  3. BuildDevelop and integrate agents using Cognizant’s orchestration tools
  4. Scale – Enterprise-wide deployment with embedded governance and performance tracking

Strategic Partnerships and Ecosystem Integration

Cognizant has partnered with leading platforms including:

  • Microsoft Azure AI Foundry
  • Google Agentspace
  • Salesforce Agentforce
  • WRITER’s Agent Builder platform

These collaborations ensure multi-platform interoperability, allowing agents to operate across systems and deliver measurable impact in regulated environments like financial services, healthcare, and retail.

Use Cases Across Industries

Agent Foundry supports both horizontal domains (e.g., customer service, legal, marketing) and vertical functions (e.g., claims adjudication, regulatory reporting, medical billing).

Real-world applications include:

  • Automating post-purchase retail interactions
  • Reducing compliance review cycles from weeks to minutes
  • Enhancing triage accuracy in grievance handling

Cognizant emphasizes responsible AI by design, embedding human oversight, observability, and compliance with global standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and the EU AI Act.

This ensures that agent behavior aligns with client-defined objectives and regulatory frameworks.
