Additionally, last month the company agreed to add a couple of Yes Bank nominees to its board. The shareholders in an EGM had rejected the reappointment of Jawahar Goel as MD in June 2022.

Direct Home Entertainment company, Dish TV Chairman Jawahar Goel has decided to step down from the board.

A regulatory filing by Dish TV said, “Jawahar Lal Goel, the Director, vide his letter dated September 19, 2022 has tendered his resignation from the company’s Board of Directors and committee/s thereof with effect from the close of business hours of September 19, 2022.”

“Consequently, he shall cease to be the Chairman of the Board,” regulatory filing by the company added.

Additionally, last month the company agreed to add a couple of Yes Bank nominees to its board. Earlier in June 2022, the shareholders in an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) had rejected the proposal for the reappointment of Jawahar Goel as managing director. This resulted in him vacating his office.

The reappointment of Anil Kumar as the whole-time director had also failed. Dish TV is run by Jawahar Goel and Subhash Chandra’s brother. Last month, Dish TV had agreed to add a couple of Yes Bank nominees to its board and on August 30 further considered one more nominee.

The private lender Yes Bank owns nearly 25 percent share in the company. The bank had been actively seeking the reconstitution of the Dish TV board. It was also looking forward to the removal of Jawahar Goel along with a few other members, citing corporate governance issues.
