Ex-HR manager of pvt firms held for misappropriation of funds

K. Antony Hruthy, a 47-year-old EX-HR manager of private automobile firms was arrested for misappropriating the employee’s provisional fund (PF) savings of staff.

He is charged under Sections 406, 465, and 468 of the Indian Penal and was arrested on Thursday.

The official said, “In both instances, the misappropriation of funds came to light when the firms forwarded the claim applications of the employees to the EPFO on Dr. Balasundaram Road.”

From 2010 to 2012, K. Antony Hruthy committed the first fraud when he was in Ramanathapuram as the HR manager of a private automobile company.

According to a police officer, the corporation fired him subsequently as he diverted 3,86,556 from the PF savings of 23 employees to certain bank accounts and withdrawal the same.

Antony joined as the HR manager of another private automobile on Avinashi Road in 2015. According to the officer, and diverted 31,450 from the provisional fund savings of five employees.

EPFO instructed the firm to pay the amount with an interest of 23,824 as the funds were stolen by K. Antony Hruthy. The firm paid the amount and fired Antony.

According to the officer, “He was later identified by a police magistrate who put him in jail, and the resulting misappropriation of funds was revealed in both cases.”
