IBM has launched a new Agentic AI Innovation Centre at its Bengaluru office on July 16. This space is meant to help companies build and test autonomous AI agents.

It gives businesses the tools they need to create their agents, fine-tune Small Language Models (SLMs), and check results in just a few hours.

Support for Local Businesses and Developers

The center is built to help not just large companies, but also partners and startups. It offers a space where people can work directly with IBM’s AI experts.

Through hands-on learning and testing, developers can gain useful experience in working with AI in real-world setups.

A Push for Better AI Strategies

At the event, Dinesh Nirmal, Senior Vice President of IBM Software, said the center is part of IBM’s plan to help Indian companies shift from using AI in a reactive way to using it more proactively.

The focus is on helping businesses stay ahead by building smarter, more useful AI tools.

Ongoing Learning and Community Events

To keep the AI community engaged, IBM will host regular events like Developer Hangouts and AI Accelerator Days.

These events will give people a chance to stay updated on the latest tools, work together, and create practical AI-based solutions.

IBM Watsonx Orchestrate at the Core

The main tool behind the center’s work is IBM Watson Orchestrate. This platform allows companies to create and manage AI agents that fit into their current systems.

It’s meant to make it easier for businesses to get real value from AI without having to rebuild their tech from scratch.

Building for Long-Term Impact

Sandip Patel, managing director of IBM India and South Asia, said the center will help companies understand how to focus on high-impact use cases.

He emphasized the need for stronger local innovation and building AI tools that can scale while sticking to strong rules and standards.

Survey Shows High Interest in Agentic AI

A recent study by IBM and Oxford Economics found that 78% of Indian business leaders believe agentic AI can help with better decision-making.

The same number is pushing their teams to try out these tools. This shows that many leaders see strong value in working with AI in real, day-to-day business tasks.

Final Thought

With this new center, IBM is offering companies a direct path to apply AI in useful, grounded ways. It’s a step toward making AI a normal part of how work gets done, not just a future idea.
