IT major, Infosys has announced incentive packages to motivate employees to relocate to its Hubballi development center.

This move is part of the company’s broader strategy to expand in tier-2 cities in the Mumbai Karnataka region.

The initiative comes in response to recent government advisories emphasizing the importance of creating local employment opportunities.

By promoting transfers to Hubballi, Infosys aims to support regional development and align with governmental priorities.

This strategy not only helps in tapping into the talent pool of tier-2 cities but also contributes to balanced economic growth and addresses local job creation needs.

To encourage relocation, Infosys is providing tiered incentive packages. Employees at Band 3 and below will get an initial Rs 25,000 upon moving to Hubballi, plus an additional Rs 25,000 every six months for two years, totaling Rs 1.25 lakh over 24 months.

Higher-level employees, from Bands 4 to 7, will receive larger incentives between Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 8 lakh, in addition to the initial relocation bonus, after completing the 24 months.

“This move encourages local talent from the Kittur Karnataka region to explore opportunities closer to home, fostering community ties and local development”, MB Patil added.

MB Patil further said, “Infosys’ commitment to state-of-the-art campuses and employing thousands of engineers globally exemplifies its leadership and positive impact on regional economies. This initiative not only supports local growth but also showcases Infosys’ dedication to innovation and employee welfare in the tech industry.”
