As per the reports of Money Control, An Indian multinational information technology company, Infosys is blaming Cognizant for unfair talent poaching practices.

As per the media report, Infosys sent a written communication to Cognizant after many top executives resigned from Infosys to join the Cognizant. “Non-compete clauses are not enforceable, but this communication to Cognizant was more of a deterrent,” one of the sources said.

Recently, Wipro also filed a lawsuit against former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jatin Dalal who had joined Cognizant recently. The complaint is filed in Bengaluru’s civil court.

The hearing is scheduled for January 3 as reported by TOI. Jatin Dalal has applied, requesting the court to refer the matter to arbitration. However, the reason for the complaint hasn’t been specified.

Jatin Dalal joined Cognizant from Wipro, a multinational technology services and consulting company, where, since April 2015, he served as Chief Financial Officer and assumed additional responsibilities as President in 2019.

In yet another incident recently, IT giant, Wipro has filed a complaint against an ex-healthcare head for breach of contract for violating non-compete covenants in his employment contract by joining Wipro’s direct competitor Cognizant.

Moreover, according to the report of the TOI, Wipro’s complaint was against the employee Mohd Haque for allegedly breaching the non-compete clause in his employment contract.

CEO Ravi Kumar joined Cognizant as an Infosys veteran in January this year. Post he joined Cognizant, he hired over twenty executive vice presidents and four senior vice presidents.

A majority of these top managers are from Infosys and Wipro and this may be the specific reason for the action and steps taken by the two companies.
