The US tech conglomerate of Meta, WhatsApp is rolling out a new group chat feature. This feature is available for Android beta. The feature will display profile icons within group chats.

According to reports, the new feature is available for some beta testers after installing the latest update of WhatsApp beta for Android on the Play Store.

Moreover, it will help the Users to open a group chat to find out if the feature is available for their WhatsApp account. Additionally, this new feature will help users to better identify group members by showing a profile icon.

In case a profile photo is unavailable or hidden due to privacy settings it is highlighted using the same colour as the contact name.

Earlier, the company announced adding new features to status on WhatsApp — like private audience selector, voice status, and the ability to react with emojis — to make expressing yourself with others easier.

The company added a set of new features to status on WhatsApp that make it easier to express yourself and connect with others. This feature helped to choose who views your status each time you update it.

WhatsApp messages are End-to-end encryption. This encryption ensures that the messages are secure and additionally only the sender of the message and the recipient read them. Just like personal chats and calls, WhatsApp status is protected by end-to-end encryption.

Recently, WhatsApp has said that it will leave the UK rather than weaken encryption. As the country is upcoming with its Online Safety Bill.

The UK government will be passing its Online Safety Bill later this year. The government has argued that security should be weakened so that messages can be scanned for illegal content.
