Earlier, an Indian multinational corporation, Wipro reduced the fresher employees’ salary by 50 percent from Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh per annum.
Wipro provides training to freshers employees. This gives an opportunity to the Elite fresher candidate to upgrade to the ‘Turbo’ category. This also upgrades the salary package of employees.
The company said to these candidates, “If you choose to accept this offer, all previous offers will stand void. We encourage you to grab this opportunity as it is time-bound.”
Now, the company has again imposed Project Readiness Program (PRP) training for the employees. This training will end with a test and elimination chance.

As per the business standard reports, Wipro said, “At Wipro, we place immense value on seeing our talent grow and succeed.”
“The Project Readiness Program is a part of our routine onboarding process and is designed to ensure that our next-gen associates are assigned to the right client projects and have the most up-to-date skillset to make an immediate impact,” the company added.
Additionally, if the employees will not be able to clear the PRP training with an overall score of at least 60 percent they will be terminated immediately.
As Moneycontrol quoted NITES President Harpreet Singh Saluja saying, “In March 2022, before starting the unpaid velocity training of Wipro, the company’s HR (Human Resources) department assured the employees that if they successfully completed the training, they would not have to undergo training again in the company,”
“However, after joining the company on March 30, 2023, Wipro suddenly changed its stance and said that the employees have to go through training again,” Harpreet Singh Saluja added.
The report also claimed that this will be affecting over 100 employees. Earlier, Wipro sacked 452 fresher employees due to poor performance. The union of IT employees Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) said that it ‘strongly condemns the unethical layoffs done by Wipro.’
