The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has introduced a new HR Trainee internship under its flagship internship initiative, aimed at offering hands-on industry experience to students.

The remote opportunity is available to students across India, and nine positions are currently open for immediate joining.

About the Internship

This part-time, work-from-home internship will run for 12 weeks and is open to students from all academic streams and campuses.

Although the internship is unpaid (₹0 stipend), it offers a valuable certificate on completion, an offer letter upon joining, and access to mentorship and weekly live sessions.

Roles and Responsibilities

Selected HR Trainees will engage in:

  • Posting job openings across various social media platforms
  • Tracking engagement metrics
  • Maintaining candidate databases
  • Submitting weekly progress reports to the HR Manager

The position is designed to build practical skills in digital hiring, recruitment marketing, and communication, essential for future roles in Human Resources.

Who Can Apply

Candidates with strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and familiarity with social media tools are encouraged to apply.

The internship is ideal for students looking to build a career in HR, digital recruitment, or talent acquisition. As it’s a remote role, students from any location in India can participate.

Value Beyond Stipend

Although it is an unpaid opportunity, the internship provides significant experiential learning. Successful interns will receive:

  • An internship completion certificate
  • A joining offer letter
  • Mentorship from industry professionals
  • Possibility of being absorbed into full-time roles based on performance

Application Deadline and Process

The last date to apply is June 19, 2025.

Students must apply through the AICTE Internship Portal and choose up to three preferred mentors, either from the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) domain or by nominating a qualified external mentor.

AICTE’s Vision for Scalable Internships

This HR Trainee internship is part of AICTE’s broader mission to facilitate 1 crore internships by 2025.

The initiative is designed to provide real-world exposure to students, preparing them for modern workplace demands, especially in digital and remote environments.

Experts have lauded the move, noting the importance of social media-driven recruitment in today’s job market.

The internship offers a valuable stepping stone for students aiming to enter the HR profession with a practical, digital-first approach.
