IBM, in collaboration with the Edunet Foundation, has announced a free six-week virtual internship program for students and recent graduates across India.
The initiative, part of IBM’s broader SkillsBuild platform, offers 5,000 internship positions focused on Frontend Web Development (FWD) and related technologies.
Applications are open until July 31, 2025, and interested candidates can apply via the AICTE Internship Portal.
The internship focuses on building practical skills in web development, machine learning, and deep learning.
It aims to close the gap between what students learn in academia and what the tech industry demands.
The program is entirely online, allowing students to participate from anywhere with a stable internet connection.
IBM Tech Internship Program: Curriculum and Learning Experience
The internship includes weekly virtual sessions led by experienced professionals from the tech industry.
These sessions cover core concepts in frontend development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks commonly used in modern web applications.
Participants will also be introduced to emerging technologies such as machine learning and deep learning, providing a well-rounded foundation in digital skills.
Each intern is expected to complete an individual project by the end of the program.
This project will serve as a portfolio piece and demonstrate the intern’s ability to apply learned concepts in a real-world context.
After successfully completing the internship, students will receive a certificate from the Edunet Foundation.
They may also earn a digital badge to highlight their achievement on LinkedIn or in their resumes.
Eligibility Criteria and Technical Requirements
The internship is open to students pursuing BE, BTech, BCA, or MCA degrees, particularly those with backgrounds in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related fields.
Applicants must be available for the full six-week duration and have access to a laptop or desktop running Windows or Linux, along with a modern browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox.
A valid Gmail account is required for registration.
Application Deadline and Next Steps
With 5,000 seats available, the program is expected to attract a large number of applicants.
Students are encouraged to apply early to secure a spot before the July 31 deadline.
The internship begins shortly after the application window closes, and selected candidates will receive onboarding instructions via email.
Interested applicants can visit the AICTE Internship Portal for more details and to submit their applications.
