Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has started a new internship program for young people. It’s called the Viksit Delhi Chief Minister Internship Programme.

The goal is to involve students and young professionals in the work of the government and give them real-life experience in how decisions are made and carried out.

Monthly Stipend

Each selected intern will get ₹20,000 per month for three months. During this time, they will be trained, given assignments in different parts of the city, and asked to help with planning and policy tasks.

“This is more than just an internship. It’s a chance for the youth to be part of Delhi’s growth,” Gupta said in a post on X. She also said that the government wants young people to share their ideas and take part in public work.

The process to get selected will happen fully online. Applicants will be judged on how well they show leadership, their understanding of local issues, and their interest in government work.

150 Positions

Out of all who apply, 300 will be invited to a one-day camp. This camp will include group sessions, short workshops, and an essay round. After this, 150 people will be chosen for the final internship.

The program will take place in three parts. First, interns will learn about how the Delhi government works and the main problems it handles. Next, they will be sent to all 70 assembly areas in Delhi to meet people, find problems, and think of ways to fix them.

In the last part, interns will work in government departments and write reports on 10 major issues affecting the city. The best two reports will be shown to the chief minister.

Anyone interested can apply by visiting viksitdelhiyuva.org or by scanning a QR code shared in the campaign.

Delhi Chief Minister’s Statement

The chief minister’s office said that the idea is to build a group of “Viksit Delhi ambassadors.” These will be young leaders who will talk about public issues and encourage others to get involved in their communities, schools, colleges, and online.

Delhi CM said this step will help young people understand real-world problems and how to think in a way that focuses on finding answers. She also said it will make Delhi’s public work more open to the people.

This internship is one of the first big programs by Gupta after taking office. It shows a strong focus on getting students and young professionals more involved in government work.

The online form is open now, and applicants are urged to apply early. Only a small group will be picked, and competition is expected to be strong.
