The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), along with Edunet Foundation and Shell, is offering a free four-week virtual internship called Skills4Future.
This program is aimed at 2nd to 4th-year students pursuing Computer Engineering, IT, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Data Science, and similar fields.
The internship runs from July 15 to August 16, 2025. It’s fully online and focuses on building practical skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and green technology.
Students will work in teams on real-world projects that address environmental problems. Industry mentors will guide them throughout the process.
Key features of the program include:
- Mentorship and teamwork on live projects
- Development of AI-based green-tech prototypes
- Presentation of final projects to industry panels during regional events
- Certificates from AICTE, Shell, and Edunet Foundation
The program is open to students aged 17 and up who are currently enrolled in eligible technical programs. Basic computer knowledge is expected, but advanced programming skills are not required.
Students must be able to commit time to the internship while managing their regular academic work. A computer and internet connection (either at home or at college) are necessary to take part.
Only 3,000 students from across India will be selected for this opportunity.
This effort reflects AICTE’s goal of linking classroom learning with practical knowledge needed in the job market. It aligns with broader efforts to prepare India’s workforce for fast-changing technology fields, similar to other state-level internship programs already underway.
Interested students should apply through the AICTE National Internship Portal. Look for “Shell-Edunet Skills4Future AICTE Internship” under the virtual internship section.
Applicants need to log in, pick project themes, choose mentors, and upload their details. Edunet Foundation will make the final selections.
This internship offers students a chance to build real skills in AI and clean technology—backed by well-known organizations and guided by experienced professionals.
