A global professional services company and IT major, Accenture in India has fired a few employees as they presented fake documents and experience letters to obtain jobs with the organization.

Accenture in India said in a statement, “We have discovered an effort to use documentation and experience letters from fraudulent companies to obtain offers of employment from Accenture in India.”

“We have exited people who we confirmed took advantage of this scheme. We have taken action to ensure that there will be no impact on our ability to serve our clients”, the company said in the statement.

The company further said, “We are continuing to hire, and honour existing job offers for qualified candidates.”

Accenture operates under a ‘strict Code of Business Ethics and maintained zero tolerance for any non-adherence.
However, the exact number of employees who were impacted is still unknown. According to Twitter posts, the organization may sack ‘thousands’ of employees.

Earlier it was reported that Accenture has delayed the onboarding of fresh hires to 2023. Due to this, freshers were worried about their career gaps.

Many fresh graduates got offer letters from Accenture in April last week. The company has approved all the documents and has done the hiring formalities. However, the freshers are not onboarded by the tech firm.

According to reports, the company has seemingly postponed the dates of onboarding somewhere in 2023.

The company has over 3,00,000 employees in India and the company previously said it is onboarding 1,50,000 new employees globally using the metaverse.

The company currently operates from its centers and offices in Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, Indore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, the National Capital Region (NCR), and Jaipur, among others.

Accenture has 721,000 people who deliver on the promise of technology and human ingenuity every day, serving clients in more than 120 countries.
