In 2022, there were 1,535 layoffs at tech companies 241,176 people were impacted. There can be many reasons behind sacking an employee.

Companies are laying off employees due to poor performance, cost-cutting, or due to economic uncertainty. But just imagine an employee has been fired from work just because of heating the lunch in a company oven. It is true.

Starbucks Layoff Story

Starbucks is an American multinational chain of coffeehouses and roastery reserves headquartered in Seattle, Washington. It is the world’s largest coffeehouse chain.

It became in news for sacking an employee. Recently, an employee who previously worked for Starbucks was reportedly sacked for heating his food in the company’s oven.

The employee-sacked employee shared a video on social media showcasing whatever happened during that time.  The video also features the user holding what looked like a “notice of separation”. For the caption, he stated, “Steak so scrumptious HR investigated me for the secret recipe.” Take a look:

Is it Genuine?

As per Digital Daily, Starbucks has a strict policy on the usage of cafe ovens for personal use. According to a Reddit user who was also an employee of the company explained, “As per Starbucks policy and food & safety procedures, we are not supposed to warm up our own personal food we bring from home in the ovens.”

Additionally, he explained, not all employees get into such trouble. He also said that the company also appreciates and acknowledges their employees for their good work and the extra efforts they put in to ensure quality service to their customers.
