Earlier in November 2022, A Viral picture was shared by Twitter’s director of product management Esther Crawford who was seen sleeping on the office floor after working overtime in order to meet the stringent deadlines, she is fired now in a fresh round of layoffs of 50 employees.

She was clicked wrapped in a sleeping bag and an eye mask behind a table and some chairs in her office.

It was reported that Twitter told its employees that the company has set tasks so that it can be seen who works hard in Musk’s team.

The teams of Twitter’s engineers had been assigned coding projects to be completed over the weekend. Twitter managers have told some staff to work 12-hour shifts, seven days a week. That is equivalent to 84 hours a week to meet Musk’s deadlines, citing internal communications.

Esther Crawford shared a tweet saying, “The worst take you could have from watching me go all-in on Twitter 2.0 is that my optimism or hard work was a mistake.”

“Those who jeer & mock are necessarily on the sidelines and not in the arena. I’m deeply proud of the team for building through so much noise & chaos”, the tweet added.

Recently, Elon Musk has also shut two out of three Twitter India offices. The company has told its staff to work from home. The main focus is to shut down offices around the world as part of an effort to get Twitter financially stable by late 2023.

The company has closed its offices in the political center of New Delhi and the financial hub of Mumbai. The southern tech hub of Bengaluru mostly houses engineers and it will work as usual.

As earlier, Twitter reportedly fired over 90% of the workforce in India which is nearly 200-plus staff in India over the weekend last year as part of the global restructuring exercise initiated by the company’s new owner Elon Musk.

After acquiring Twitter in a $44 Bn deal, Tesla boss Musk has initiated a complete overhaul of the company’s employee structure and business model. Just after taking ownership of the company, Musk fired Twitter’s top executives, including its CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and legal affairs and policy chief Vijaya Gadde.
