Bajaj Auto, India’s third-largest two-wheeler maker, has announced the appointment of Dinesh Thapar as the Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.
He replaces Soumen Ray who has joined Bharti Airtel in December 2021.
According to the company statement, Dinesh Thapar has over 23 years of work experience. He has handled a range of leadership roles across corporate finance, business finance, investor relations, corporate audit, managing joint ventures, and supply chain.
He also brings experience in the areas of business partnering, performance management, governance, strategic initiatives, engaging with the board, and external communication, Bajaj Auto said.
While leading the Finance functional agenda, Dinesh, also comes with experience in the areas of business partnering, performance management, governance, strategic initiatives, engaging with the Board, and external communication.
Before joining Bajaj Auto, Thapar worked for three years at Reliance Retail as Group CFO and also worked for over 20 years with Hindustan Unilever in different positions with the last position as Vice President – Finance. Across both the companies he has been a part of the senior leadership team and on the Board of various group companies.
Thapar is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
