Santrupt Misra, Group HR Head, Aditya Birla opts for early retirement

According to Livemint, Dr. Santrupt Misra, CEO of Birla Carbon; Director, Chemicals; and Director, Group HR for the Aditya Birla Group is taking early retirement.

He has been associated with Aditya Birla Group for nearly three decades. Santrupt has worked at Board level for close to two decades as a non-executive director and executive director in publicly listed companies, unlisted companies, and not for not-for-profit organizations both in India and overseas.

A Spokesperson told Livemint, “After 28 years of service with the group, Dr Santrupt Misra has decided to take early retirement, to pursue his interests outside of the corporate realm.”

“Consequently, Mr. Ashok Ramchandran, Group Executive President, Aditya Birla Group, has been elevated as Director, HR”, a spokesperson added.

His earlier stints include working with Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and Straw Products (JK Organization).

Santrupt holds two postgraduate degrees in Political Science and Personnel Management & Industrial Relations, respectively. In addition, also holds two PhDs, from India & UK, in Public Administration and Industrial Relations, respectively & an honorary D.Sc degree from Aston University, UK.
