Avanse and AWS Join Forces to Upskill Indian Youth

Avanse Financial Services, a leading education-focused non-banking financial company (NBFC), has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver job-relevant technology education to students across the country.

The initiative is designed to make high-quality learning accessible to youth regardless of their financial background, and aligns with India’s broader goals of digital transformation and workforce readiness.

The collaboration utilizes AWS’s global skilling platforms, including AWS Skill Builder and AWS re/Start.

These programs offer curated, hands-on training in cloud computing and emerging technologies.

Avanse will fund and facilitate access to these programs, ensuring that students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds can participate without cost barriers.

Avanse and AWS Partnership: Two-Pronged Approach to Skilling

The partnership follows a dual strategy to reach both mainstream and underserved learners:

  • AWS Skill Builder: Avanse will offer curated courses to its existing and prospective higher education students. These programs cover foundational and advanced topics in cloud computing, data analytics, and other in-demand tech domains.
  • AWS re/Start: As part of its CSR initiatives, Avanse will make skill-building courses available at zero cost to underserved students. This includes those from rural areas, low-income families, and non-traditional education backgrounds.

The goal is to empower learners with practical, industry-aligned skills that enhance employability and career mobility.

Leadership Perspective and Vision

Commenting on the partnership, Amit Gainda, Managing Director & CEO of Avanse Financial Services, emphasized the importance of skill development in today’s fast-evolving job market.

Amit stated, “In a rapidly changing world, skill development is crucial for individuals to adapt, thrive, and remain relevant.”

He added, “This strategic partnership will enable us to transform education financing into a holistic, future-forward force, enhancing access to education while also supporting broader pathways to empowerment and economic mobility”.

Amit emphasized that combining AWS’s skilling programs with Avanse’s financing expertise will help build a strong and scalable learning ecosystem.

This collaboration aims to make education more accessible, affordable, and aligned with current industry needs.

Addressing India’s Demographic Dividend

India’s large youth population presents a unique opportunity to build a future-ready workforce.

However, the challenge lies in ensuring that this demographic is equipped with market-relevant skills.

The Avanse-AWS collaboration directly addresses this need by offering cloud expertise, hands-on learning, and career readiness through structured programs.

AWS’s initiative is closely aligned with the India Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance.

This alliance brings together employers, educational institutions, and government agencies to help learners prepare for in-demand technology roles.
