In a powerful collaboration that transcends corporate boundaries, Capgemini and SAP have unveiled Capgemini-SAP Digital Academy program—a beacon of hope for India’s marginalized youth.

This initiative, driven by a shared commitment to social responsibility, aims to equip disadvantaged individuals with essential digital skills.

Empowering the Youth

India, with its burgeoning youth population, stands at a crossroads. The digital revolution is reshaping industries, and access to relevant skills has become a critical determinant of success. Capgemini and SAP recognize this urgency and have joined forces to address the gap.

The program’s canvas spans six vibrant Indian cities: Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune. In these urban hubs, where aspirations meet challenges, the Capgemini-SAP Digital Academy will ignite change.

Commenting on the announcement, Ashwin Yardi, CEO of Capgemini in India said, “We are delighted to collaborate with SAP and make a significant contribution towards the advancement of India’s digital economy through the upskilling of its youth.”

Ashwin added, “This collaboration reflects Capgemini’s commitment to empowering vulnerable youth communities and promoting equal opportunities, fostering inclusion and socio-economic development in India.”

“Through the Capgemini-SAP Digital Academy program, we are equipping individuals with essential skills and creating pathways for sustainable careers and livelihoods, while also nurturing the skilled talent India needs for future growth,” he said.

Capgemini and SAP Course Offerings and Market Alignment

Vocational and Technical Skills: The heart of the initiative lies in skill training. Participants will receive targeted vocational and technical education, aligning with market demands. From coding to data analytics, the curriculum is designed to empower.

Employment-Linked Training: The academy doesn’t stop at knowledge; it bridges theory and practice. Employment-linked training ensures that graduates are job-ready, equipped to contribute meaningfully to the workforce.

Gender Inclusivity: A Bold Commitment

Capgemini and SAP understand that diversity fuels innovation. Over 50% of program participants will be young women—an intentional move to bridge the gender gap in tech-related fields. By empowering women, the initiative fosters inclusive socio-economic growth.

Sindhu Gangadharan, MD of SAP Labs India, emphasizes the long-term impact: “Our partnership will empower India’s youth with future-ready and well-defined skillsets, ensuring their success in careers.”

He added, “This collaboration represents a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to foster a culture of continuous learning, contributing to India’s growth trajectory.”

Capgemini Collaborates with SAP: Revolutionizing the Skilling Ecosystem

Beyond training, Capgemini and SAP aim to influence policy. Their vision extends beyond individual success stories—to systemic change. By advocating for skilling reforms, they hope to create a ripple effect across the nation.

Over the next three years, Capgemini and SAP will invest jointly. Their pooled resources, expertise, and networks will support more than 8,000 marginalized youth. These individuals, often overlooked, will now have a chance to thrive.

Sindhu said, “At SAP, we have an unwavering commitment to providing equitable access to education and employment opportunities on digital and green skills for youth in today’s rapidly changing world.”

“By joining forces with Capgemini on this initiative, we are delivering on our commitment to harnessing technology for positive societal impact,” he concluded.
