Oracle, a global leader in data management and cloud services, has launched Project Vidya, an ambitious initiative aimed at training 500,000 youth and women across India in cutting-edge digital technologies by 2028.

This program focuses on areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI (GenAI), cybersecurity, data science, cloud computing, and application development.

Objective of Project Vidya by Oracle

The primary goal of Project Vidya is to equip participants with essential digital skills, enhancing their employability in the rapidly evolving technology sector.

By providing comprehensive training and certification, Oracle aims to bridge the skills gap and contribute to India’s digital transformation.

Partnerships and Collaborations

To maximize the reach and impact of this initiative, Oracle has established strategic partnerships with key organizations:

  • National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC): In collaboration with NSDC, Oracle plans to train 100,000 youth and professionals from diverse educational backgrounds, including engineering, arts, and science. This partnership seeks to prepare individuals for employment opportunities in the digital domain.
  • Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC): Under the Naan Mudhalvan program, Oracle has already trained and certified over 80,000 students, focusing on enhancing digital skills among the youth in Tamil Nadu.

Training Modules and Delivery

Oracle University, the company’s training and enablement division, is developing specialized training modules for Project Vidya.

These modules will be delivered digitally through Oracle MyLearn, the company’s comprehensive training platform.

The curriculum will cover foundational to advanced topics, including:

  • Cloud Technologies: Training in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.
  • AI and ML: Courses on AI services, machine learning algorithms, and data science.
  • Cybersecurity: Modules focusing on cloud security, data protection, and threat management.
  • Application Development: Training in application development, DevOps, and low-code platforms.

The program aims to provide participants with the skills necessary for technology-driven careers. This will contribute to the nation’s skill ecosystem and economic growth.

Global Context and Oracle’s Commitment

Oracle’s commitment to digital education extends beyond India.

In January 2025, the company announced plans to train and certify 350,000 individuals across the Middle East. The training will focus on AI and advanced digital technologies.

This initiative underscores Oracle’s dedication to fostering a skilled workforce in emerging technologies on a global scale.
