Ratan Tata invests in Kolkata-based Healthcare startup iKure

Kolkata-based healthtech startup iKure has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from the former Chairman of Tata Group, Ratan Tata. Founded in 2010 by Sujay Santra.

The startup delivers primary healthcare through its hubs-and-spokes clinic model. iKure has previously raised funding from Inflection Point Ventures, Intellecap, and state-run West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation.

Speaking on the investment, Sujay Santra, Founder and CEO, said – “We are extremely pleased to have been considered by Ratan Tata for an investment. This is a huge honour and encouragement for us.”

Founded in 2010, the health-tech startup has served the healthcare need of 1.1 million people across 7 states in India and aims to provide its healthcare services to more than ten million people in the next five years.

With services spread across 3000 villages in seven states, the startup has prominent partners like WHO, World Economic Forum, and UNDP. It addresses the primary healthcare, wellness, and prevention needs of people across rural, semi-urban, and urban areas.
