On Valentine’s Day, Honasa Consumer Ltd., the parent company of popular brands like Mamaearth, The Derma Co., Aqualogica, BBlunt, and Dr. Sheth’s, announced a groundbreaking ‘Couples Welcome’ policy.

This initiative aims to challenge the traditional notion that personal relationships and professional environments should remain separate.

It advocates for a more inclusive and progressive workplace culture.

Honasa Consumer Ltd. was founded in 2016 by Ghazal and Varun Alagh when they couldn’t find natural toxin-free baby products for their child.

What began as a personal mission has since grown into a house of brands that includes The Derma Co., Dr. Sheth’s, Aqualogica, BBlunt, and Staze Beauty.

The company is committed to fostering a workplace where talent, teamwork, and shared aspirations are celebrated. This commitment is evident in their new policy.

Honasa Consumer Policy Announcement: Vision and Impact

The policy was announced by Honasa’s co-founders, Ghazal and Varun Alagh, who started Mamaearth together.

Inspired by their own journey, the ‘Couples Welcome’ policy seeks to normalize professional partnerships between couples.

It also recognizes the value of such partnerships.

Varun Alagh, Co-Founder & CEO, and Ghazal Alagh, Co-Founder & Chief Innovation Officer, emphasized the importance of mutual trust and aligned vision.

They highlighted that shared passion drives both business success and personal growth.

Varun Alagh stated, “We’ve seen time and again that when couples work together, incredible things happen.”

He added, “We believe it’s time to challenge the outdated notion that couples shouldn’t work together.”

Varun stated, “Through this policy, we’re not just embracing change within Honasa but also urging the industry to rethink this archaic rule.”

“Talent, collaboration, and shared ambition should take center stage,” he added.

Ghazal Alagh added, “We hope this initiative sparks a larger industry conversation – one that challenges biases and encourages workplaces where couples can thrive together, just as we have.”

Industry Reactions and Future Implications

The ‘Couples Welcome’ policy has been met with positive reactions from industry stakeholders.

Many see it as a step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive work environment.

The policy challenges the long-standing perception that personal relationships and professional environments should remain separate.

It advocates for a more progressive and inclusive work culture.

By introducing the ‘Couples Welcome’ policy, Honasa Consumer Ltd. is paving the way for a future where corporate culture embraces professional partnerships.

This initiative seeks to include rather than exclude such collaborations.

This initiative could inspire other companies to rethink their policies and create more inclusive workplaces.
