ZEISS India has unveiled “ZEISS Reignite,” a dedicated initiative aimed at helping women professionals restart their careers after a break.

Announced on May 9, 2025, the program underscores ZEISS India’s commitment to increasing female workforce participation while fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.

The initiative is designed to provide structured opportunities for women with valuable skills and experience, ensuring they can reintegrate into the workforce with confidence.

ZEISS Reignite: Program Structure and Eligibility

The first phase of the pilot program will run for six months, based in Bengaluru, with hybrid work opportunities available nationwide.

The hiring process will span all divisions within ZEISS India, covering both tech and non-tech verticals.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • At least two years of prior professional experience.
  • A career break of over six months.
  • Interest in roles across various ZEISS India business units.

By offering flexible work arrangements, the company aims to remove barriers that often prevent women from re-entering the workforce.

ZEISS India: Leadership Perspective and Vision

Santana Ramakrishnan, CHRO of ZEISS India, emphasized the company’s belief in talent beyond career breaks, stating: > “At ZEISS, we believe that talent and potential are not defined by career breaks.

Many women step away from their careers for personal milestones like marriage or motherhood—but that should never mean an end to their professional aspirations.”

She further highlighted ZEISS’s commitment to mentorship, flexibility, and structured opportunities, ensuring that women return to work with confidence and purpose.

Inclusion and Workforce Representation

The company has consistently championed gender diversity in its workforce.

At its India Mass Manufacturing facility (INMA), women make up approximately 55% of the total employees.

The company actively promotes:

  • Diverse hiring practices.
  • Flexible work arrangements.
  • Robust POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) training.
  • Gender-inclusive programs.

Senior leadership fosters open feedback forums, reinforcing trust and empowerment for employees across all levels.
