In a bold move that underscores its commitment to growth and youth empowerment, mPokket—one of India’s fastest-growing digital lending platforms—has announced ambitious plans to expand its workforce.

During the fiscal year 2024-25, the company aims to create more than 5,000 new job opportunities.

This strategic initiative not only fuels mPokket’s own trajectory but also contributes significantly to India’s fintech landscape and economic development.

The Current Situation at mPokket

With a robust foundation of over 2,300 full-time employees, mPokket has already established itself as a key player in the digital lending space.

The company’s focus areas include cutting-edge technology, product development, data analytics, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Now, as it gears up for further growth, mPokket is actively seeking talent from the fintech, software products, and NBFC (Non-Banking Financial Company) sectors.

Gaurav Jalan, Founder and CEO of mPokket, emphasizes that their mission extends beyond mere job creation. It’s about crafting opportunities that align with the aspirations of India’s youth.

In his words, “We realise that today’s evolving economy demands more than just job creation; it requires crafting opportunities that align with the aspirations of our youth.”

Gaurav said, “We are dedicated to driving this transformation by creating an environment where talent and innovation converge. At mPokket, our goal is to provide every young Indian with secure financial opportunities and the tools to excel in the digital age.”

He added, “At the heart of our mission is youth empowerment and, as we grow, we look forward to welcoming new team members who share our vision and dedication.”

“Together, this will contribute to both our success and India’s broader economic development,” he said.

mPokket HR Initiatives for Employee Well-Being

mPokket recognizes that a thriving workforce requires more than just recruitment. To foster employee well-being and professional development, the company has introduced several HR initiatives:

Acknowledging the diverse needs of its employees, mPokket offers flexible work schedules, particularly beneficial for caregivers and those balancing work with personal responsibilities.

Continuous learning is a priority. The Micro Masters Program ensures that employees have access to ongoing education, keeping them at the forefront of industry trends.

Investing in employee skills, mPokket subsidizes e-learning courses. This initiative encourages lifelong learning and skill enhancement.

For newly promoted managers, mPokket provides specialized training to navigate their leadership roles effectively.

Ensuring a safe and respectful work environment, mPokket prioritizes training on prevention of sexual harassment.

Collaborations and Future Prospects

mPokket’s recruitment efforts extend across various locations in India.

The company collaborates with prestigious institutions such as IIT (Indian Institutes of Technology), NIT (National Institutes of Technology), BIBS (Bengal Institute of Business Studies), and United World for internships and full-time roles.

This deliberate outreach contributes to a diverse workforce, with female employees constituting 48% of the team, reflecting a near-equal gender ratio.

The timing of this job creation initiative is significant. mPokket recently secured INR 500 crore in debt capital, earmarked for product development in career acceleration and insurance verticals.

Having already disbursed over $2 billion in loans, mPokket is poised to strengthen its position as a leader in the digital lending space.

Simultaneously, it remains committed to empowering India’s youth by providing both financial services and meaningful career opportunities.
