A Reddit user Feggy_JVS shared a post stating that the boss wanted the employee to come to work on a day off as he is single.

In the post on Reddit, the man attached a screenshot of the conversation that he had with his boss. The messages showed how his boss almost forced him to come to the office on his day off.

He shared the post saying, “So this just happened and I’m almost numb. I hope I don’t regret this tomorrow as I do enjoy my job, but management is rough.”

His boss messaged the employee saying he wanted him to work the 7 am shift and asked him to come at 6.15 am for preparation.

“It shows read. I’ll see you tomorrow at 6: 15. Thanks again”, the message added.

The employee replied, “Hi Sorry I won’t be able to come tomorrow. Have you asked Brain? Thanks.”

The manager replied, “Brian is married with a kid, I’m not asking him on short notice. You’re single, why can’t you come in?”

The post has grabbed a lot of attention and Reddit users are furious over the boss’s behavior and supported with various reactions.

However, another user of Reddit replied saying, “Never elaborate on why you can’t come in on a day off. Simply reply that it’s a personal matter.”

“It’s something that really stuck with me. One of those odd little moments in life that just sticks with you. You are a person. You don’t need to justify yourself to others. Apologies if you should but don’t explain. It has had a huge impact on me and stands out massively when other people do it”, another user said.
