Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India are set to witness a significant surge in hiring momentum in 2025, with an expected increase of 18-20%.

This growth is anticipated to create approximately 340,000-380,000 new jobs across various sectors.

It reflects the expanding role of GCCs as strategic innovation hubs for global enterprises.

GCCs Hiring 2025: Technology Roles in Demand

The expansion in GCC hiring is driven by both traditional and emerging sectors, including Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI), healthcare, and retail.

It also includes sectors such as travel, quick-service restaurants (QSRs), and logistics.

These sectors are increasingly leveraging GCCs to drive digital transformation, operational efficiency, and customer-centric innovation.

There is a strong demand for technology roles such as AI/ML engineers, cloud architects, and cybersecurity specialists.

Companies are also seeking expertise in areas like digital product management, supply chain optimization, and customer experience design.

Leadership hires in innovation, finance, and operations will play a pivotal role in driving transformation and aligning GCC capabilities with global objectives.

As of 2024, there are over 1,700 GCCs in India, employing more than 1.9 million people. Bengaluru leads with over 870 GCCs, followed by Hyderabad with 550 centres.

The Karnataka government has also introduced a GCC policy aiming to establish 500 new GCCs by 2029.

Economic Impact

The surge in GCC hiring is expected to have a positive economic impact, contributing to job creation and economic growth.

Companies such as Oracle, PwC, IBM, EY, Amazon, Microsoft, Qualcomm, KPMG, Capgemini, and Wells Fargo have active demand for more than 500 people.

These openings are publicly listed.

The overall outlook for GCCs in India remains highly optimistic. Hiring in 2025 is expected to surpass 2024 levels, with strong demand for technology roles and leadership positions.

Emerging sectors are looking for expertise in areas such as digital product management and supply chain optimization.

Additionally, there is a demand for skills in customer experience design.
