Jobseekers want proof of good work culture beyond HR awards

As per the recent survey, jobseekers want proof of a good work culture beyond HR awards as employees spend enough time at the workplace.

Rewards and recognition are important tools that can be used to motivate employees and improve their performance.

Rewards can include things such as bonuses, raises, or special privileges, while recognition can come in the form of words of appreciation or awards.

As reported by Money Control, The findings from the survey of over 42,000 candidates only 6.2 percent of the employees in an exclusive survey by job portal Naukri in July said they would choose an employer based on the awards and recognitions it got.

Moreover, compared to with 61.5 percent said they would pick a company recommended for a good work culture.

The survey also covered the following findings:

  • Good and positive work culture holds more importance for employees: The survey covered employees with over 10-20 years of experience (61 percent), those with less than five years of experience (51-54 percent), and lastly freshers with 44 percent.

These results show that companies should strongly recommend to promote company potential employees to retain employees and build a good and positive work culture.

Recently in June, The Ernst & Young (EY) organization announced that 966 people have been promoted to partner across the globe, reflecting continued growth and strong business performance by the organization. Similarly, emerging markets represent a third of new partners, at 33%.

Women make up more than a third of the new cohort, representing 329 promotions (34%). Women represented 32% of the promotions of the previous cohort in 2022.

EY member firms in Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa (EMEIA) had the largest proportion of new partners, with 395 promotions (41%) followed by the Americas area with 322 promotions (33%). New partners in EY member firms in the Asia-Pacific area totaled 216 (22%).

Apart from this companies in order to retain employees they have also introduced various employee centric policies. Recently, leading companies including Accenture, Simpl, Paytm, and mPokket have recently updated their HR policies. These companies have introduced various policies such as revising the leave policies & introducing new policies towards prioritizing employee welfare etc.

Veolia implements social protection programme for its employees: The new “Veolia Cares” programme aims to guarantee a common base level of social protection for the Group’s 213,000 employees, even in countries where there are no such legal requirements.

Unprecedented in terms of its scope and scale, it gives each Group employee access to parental leave, health and death cover, support for carers, and the opportunity to dedicate one day a year to a charity or an environmental protection project.
