Microsoft Tops the Charts: India’s Most Attractive Employer Brand

In a recent survey conducted by Randstad, Microsoft has emerged as India’s most coveted employer brand for 2024. In 2024, the study spanned 32 global markets and surveyed nearly 173,000 respondents, including 3,507 respondents specifically from India.

The report sheds light on the factors that drive talent decisions in the Indian job market.

Microsoft Leading Top 10 Most Attractive Employer Brands in India

Microsoft, the tech giant clinched the top spot, emphasizing its appeal to job seekers. On number 2 is, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), climbing the rankings.

Amazon, occupied the third spot in the list. The company continues to be a sought-after employer. These were followed by Tata Power Company, Tata Motors, Samsung India, Infosys, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Industries and Mercedes-Benz.

Key Insights

Work-Life Balance Takes Center Stage: Work-life balance has gained prominence as a critical factor for Indian workers. It now surpasses salary and benefits in importance. Notably, this trend is even more pronounced among Baby Boomers and highly educated individuals.

Equal Opportunities Matter: The study highlights that equal opportunities have become a decisive factor for talent when choosing an employer. This aspect holds particular significance for women.

Compensation Challenges: While 34% of employees leave their jobs due to inadequate compensation relative to the rising cost of living, only 29% receive inflation-adjusted compensation that fully covers these costs. Another 40% receive partial inflation compensation.

Stabilizing Job-Switching Behavior: After a period of growth, job-switching behavior in India has stabilized. Millennials lead the way, with 33% having changed employers in the last six months, and 47% planning to switch in the next six months. Improved work-life balance remains a key motivator for talent seeking new opportunities.

Sector Spotlight: The automotive sector claims the top spot as the most attractive industry to work in for 2024, followed closely by IT, Communication, Telecom & ITeS.

Presenting the REBR 2024 survey insights, Viswanath PS, MD & CEO, Randstad India said, “The Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR) report is a comprehensive guide for businesses to gauge the talent pool’s perception of an ideal employer.”

He added, “The insights from this year’s findings reflect the changing expectations of the workforce. As talent increasingly prioritizes work-life balance and equity, organizations need to rethink their talent acquisition and retention strategies.”

Vishwanath further said, “Talent today is not just looking for a job but a clear sense of purpose at work.” “As the talent community becomes increasingly aware of the brands they choose to work for, it is imperative to understand their preferences and perceptions.”
